A few aspects of who I am

My Mission

I don’t claim to be an expert. Despite many years’ experience sewing for myself and others, I am still learning. Upon retirement, I gained the luxury of taking my time to pursue my own challenges. I have come to appreciate the value of finding basic patterns that suit my body shape and lifestyle; the value of making a muslin, trying it on and seeing how it fits; the willingness to translate an idea into a garment and seeing what happens; discovering what doesn’t work; and not giving up until I am happy with the results.

Occasionally, I will post an article and after a cooling off period, will edit the information according to something more I have learned about the subject. I am only here to share my experience.

Therefore, if you find something here that works for you, I am pleased. If you have a different experience or are looking for further discussion of a topic, please leave a comment and share your perspective with me.

I never stop learning, trying new ideas, testing theories and experimenting.
